Before You Begin<\/span><\/p>\n

What you need to start.<\/h2>\n<\/div>\n

Getting in the door is easier than most people think. Here’s the short list of what to have ready before your first class.<\/p>\n

The Schedule<\/span><\/p>\n

Four weeks, four days a week.<\/h2>\n<\/div>\n

The full course is 160 hours spread across about four weeks. Classes run Monday through Thursday, 8:00am – 6:30pm, and include 3 hours of night driving. The long days and four-day week are built to get you licensed fast without dragging it out for months.<\/p>\n

\nDo I need a CDL permit before I enroll? <\/iconify-icon><\/summary>\n
No – NC residents do not need a CDL permit to start training. If you’d like to get one anyway, you’ll need to pass three written tests: General Knowledge, Combination and Air Brakes. We’ll point you to the NC CDL Manual and help you prepare.<\/div>\n<\/details>\n
\nWhen do I need my DOT medical certificate? <\/iconify-icon><\/summary>\n
Before you start. All trainees must obtain their DOT medical certificate before being approved and scheduled for training. It runs about $100 through a certified medical examiner.<\/div>\n<\/details>\n
